Initial Oral Examination
Your initial visit begins with a personal meeting with Dr. Smith to discuss your concerns and goals. Then after the doctor knows your wishes we will perform a comprehensive oral evaluation which includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, risk analysis and lastly, treatment recommendations. We will also take x-rays, which includes the digital panoramic x-ray for proper diagnosis of the anterior (front) and posterior (back) teeth as well as the digital bite-wing x-ray series for proper diagnosis of between the teeth decay of posterior teeth.

We now offer new ways to prevent cavities before they start. Using the CariFree system we can help you take control of your oral health for a lifetime. Instead of treating symptoms by filling cavities, our CariFree system employs advanced science and technology to promote strong, healthy teeth and to protect your long term dental health. .

We can perform a quick, painless and inexpensive CariFree test to determine whether or not you have a cavity-causing bacterial infection. If so, we will prescribe a simple rinse treatment to arrest the infection. It all costs about the same as filling a small cavity. A small price to pay for improved oral health for a lifetime!
